Session 19

Saturday, December 03, 2022 - Sunday, December 18th, 2022

We embark on several projects over the course of the next couple weeks
- Agnes researching the church and hunters, which she excels at
- She shares the info with us at the end of the week
I try and build a relationship with Griff, in hopes of turning him into a retainer of the freehold
- It doesn't go great, but it's a little progress
Moira spends time crafting
- In the first week she makes a set of hand blades for Blaze and very fancy brass knuckles for me
- She starts work on an ornate chimerical rapier for Aoife
Agnes turns her efforts to decrypting the stolen hard drives from the church hunters

I try to build up my network of Contacts and make a small amount of progress (5 out of 125)

A story about a man who was hit by a car and died as he was trying to flee a group of snakes

A toddler captured an escaped king cobra that found its way into his room
- His father, Hank Jones, was extremely proud

Agnes' partner Alan sends her an article about recent murders in Conyers being linked to the Malacoda, with a lot of details that must have been leaked and warns her that they're likely to have a fire lit under them on the case
On the same day, Rajeesh comes to talk to her asking about how the trip to "space" went
We get an email from Sam that evening asking if we can meet with someone on the afternoon of Wednesday the 14th who is coming in from out of town
- The individual is evidently very important to the werewolves

Henry county jailor was stabbed to death by inmates who were seen ranting about ghosts and talking to the walls

Film crews report odd happenings (extreme temperature drops, a visual effects artist claiming they saw a statue move)

All but Agnes head to Oglethorpe to meet the very important werewolf, who we find out from Dreamcatcher is a Black Fury, and is some high ranking individual and close to their Silver Fang king
- Mari is of mixed Hispanic and Italian descent, with dark hair and eyes. Although she's attractive, it's not at all in a soft or pretty way; her body is a corded muscle without a trace of extraneous fat, her scars are evident whenever she wears short sleeves and her face almost never softens into a smile. She wears clothes that she can fight in, usually a tank top and military fatigue pants.
- She appears to be in here 60's, but incredibly fit
- She seems very no nonsense

We talk to her a bit about some of the people to look out for (Sabrina, Sam Springfoot), get an impression that her king (Jonas) is not dissimilar to Riordan
I tell her the story of Dreamcatcher fighting with us in the Umbra
I give up the knife Moira made for me so she can offer it as a gift to her
We make a pretty good impression evidently

Afterwards we catch up with Brook, a satyr who is a student at Oglethorpe that went with the group with Sam Springfoot
- They made it, but it was a mess, and they fought a bunch of things that they probably didn't have to
- They encountered a wendigo, illusions conjured by ancient chimera, a thunderbird, snake people (chimera that were very naga-like)
  - Sam says something to Agnes later about "Thino" in terms of who the snake people were following
Because they didn't take on all the roles (like we did) and so when they got to the end, the phoenix wouldn't see them
- There is going to be a meeting tonight around 8:00 at court where we'll get to hear Sam Springfoot report on the excursion
- I pick up Bran from the freehold after sunset and we all go to court
- Sam tells a really flattering story, but the truth of it is they performed dismally
Afterwards Blaze and I get a bit of time talking to Gavin and Rory, two of the other satyrs that went, and get a bit of their side of events and try and push the song they're putting together as they're jamming to be more disparaging of Sam Springfoot
- Agnes corners Sam to get truthful details of the adventure
- Moira and Aoife go to speak with Magnolia
